Betty Cosgrove - Co Founder

With over twenty years of research and business experience in the life sciences, Betty brings a wealth of knowledge and leadership in the industry to Lifescience Business Acceleration USA.  She is a trained molecular biologist, B.S. in Biology, and Certification in Clinical Research Management, and has worked with industry leaders and on major public initiatives. Her work includes R&D in genomics for the Human Genome Project (NIH Consortium) at Washington University, drug discovery for PPD Inc., and agrigenomics for Monsanto.

Betty’s extensive business experience includes hands-on roles including Technical Account Manager at Thermo Fisher Scientific and National Sales Manager at The Baker Company.

In recent years, Betty has specialized in business consultancy for startup biotech companies.  In this role she has worked with the Next Milestone Program (funded by NYCEDC) at the Downstate Technology Center Inc.

Bob Creighton - Co Founder

Bob has been mentoring businesses in the North American marketplace for thirty years.  He works closely with clients to help develop effective growth strategies, identify partners and generate new business.  Much of his current focus is directed towards supporting life science companies that are new to the US marketplace.

In addition to his association with Lifesciences Business Accelerator USA, Bob is CEO of MentorShop, a co-located US and European development company.  He is also an adviser to a number of high-growth technology companies in Europe and the US and directs the innovative commercialization program in North America, University Technologies and Innovations.

Bob has been honored with appointments to the Smithsonian in Washington DC and is Honorary Consul for the State of New Hampshire to Scotland and the UK.   A member of various European-American international advisory committees, he speaks regularly at American and European universities and other forums on international trade, investment, education and cultural issues.  Scottish born and educated, he is a graduate of the University of Strathclyde.  He is featured in the book Global Scots - Voices from Afar, which profiles influential Scots in the international arena.   In the voluntary field, Bob mentors young people and pioneered the schools’ program Local Heroes - Be All You Can Be.  He is current President of NHSCOT whose mission is dedicated to preserving and promoting Scottish culture in the northeast US for future generations.
